So you’ve got a lot of heavy research to do for school or work but you want to go skiing this weekend. Too bad the cabin doesn’t have internet or you could just do it after you get back from skiing. Well now you can with Offline Wikipedia, an app for Google’s Chrome browser.

Offline Wikipedia uses the Wikipedia API and some smooth HTML5 to download a copy of nearly all the textual content on Wikipedia. You won’t get all the images or the videos but you’ll get the text. The downloaded Wikipedia takes up a mere 14MB for the small version or 1GB for the larger one (you can select which one from the settings). The content is then viewable in your browser as live text where you can copy it out and paste it in your report. Pretty nifty huh?

You can find Offline Wikipedia here or in the Google Chrome store.
