I use Pinboard to keep track of links I like as well as my link blog but I’m never one to turn down a hand little tool I stumble across. Here’s a great little chunk of javascript you can use as a bookmarklet to generate a QR code of the page you’re reading.

javascript:var%20qr=window.open('',%20'Scan%20Me',%20'toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=0,width=110,height=130');qr.document.write('%3Cimg%20src=\'http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?chs=100x100&cht=qr&chld=M|0&chl='+document.location+%20'\'%20/%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%3Ca%20href=\'javascript:self.close();\'%3EClose%20Me%3C/a%3E');

To use simply open your favorite browser and click “Manage Bookmarks” or however they’ve got it labeled. Click “Add Bookmark” and copy the code above into the URL section. Then simply give it a name and check it out.

Caveat: You will need some kind of QR code scanning app on your phone. Not all phones have these but there are free versions around for your iPhone and Android phones. Not sure if there’s something out there for you Windows phone users but you have other problems already.
