Got an email from my brother in Iraq today. They’ve moved from the Baghdad International Airport to one of Saddam’s former palaces.
Evidently life is pretty rough over there for our troops. Here’s some stuff the major news sources aren’t reporting.
Daily mortar attack

Congratulations to Eric and Christy on the birth of their son Ryan. Born at 7:14am yesterday morning. Weight and length were 6 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long.
Mother and baby are both doing fine.
My high school chemistry teacher Mr. Williams would be proud of me. I remembered one of the chemistry lessons on how to properly fold a papertowel to filter a substrate.
I remember going to his classes to see him boiling beakers of dark black liquid and then filtering it through a folded paper towel. A […]
CNN was doing a comparison of casualties rates from previous conflicts. 1 in 15 were injured in WWI, WWII, Vietnam. 1 in 13 during Korea. 1 in 1500 during the Gulf War. They expect this war to return to the 1 in 15 casualty rate. That means roughly 17,000 casualties on the Ally side.
Uh! I am agast! My mother and father-in-law went to Italy and didn’t even bring me back any coffee! What gives? Don’t they know the rule?
When traveling to exotic locations that are famous for coffee, you must always bring Loyd some.
I’ve got my computer situated in a nice spot. I have a window right in front of me where I can look out to the east and see what’s going on. I happened to look up earlier then rushed outside to shoot this shot.
I capture a lot of interesting pictures of the sky this […]

The new top and […]
I’m not quite sure why but I’ve been very tired recently. It could be that my sons teething is keeping me from getting sound sleep. Or maybe it’s the fact that I’m now 2 years without a vacation. Or maybe just the stress of daily life in pre-war America is getting to me. Whatever it […]
Oh happy day! Happy day!
I’ve got my fishing license for the year!
Yes, I know it’s March and I’m 3 months late, but atleast it’s not December!
Nice thing is, it went DOWN in price by $8! Wooo-hooo!
I plan to be on the river with my flyrod early Saturday or Sunday morning. A […]
Everyday Zac seems to come up with new sounds. Today he’s got a high pitched sqeek. He seems to have figured out how to syllabalize it too. The first time I heard it I came running to see what was the matter.
He’s also watched mommy and daddy eat enough times that he’s trying to […]
